Beginning as a celebration of the opening of the Lake Houston Parkway bridge in Kingwood, The Y's annual Bridge Fest remains an important event for the Lake Houston Area and the Lake Houston YMCA will not let anything stand in their way as they look to continue to serve and strengthen the Lake Houston Area community of Kingwood, Atascocita, Humble, Huffman and Crosby. This year though, things will be a little different, but the purpose remains, participation in Bridge Fest supports YMCA programs that positively impact the Lake Houston community. Net proceeds benefit the YMCA annual campaign, which helps everyone, regardless of age, income or background, have the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive at the Y.
This year the Y will host the annual run VIRTUALLY from Sat February 13 - Sun February 28, and encourage participants to get out in nature, run and support a great cause! With over 75 miles of trail and no motorized vehicles to contend with, the Kingwood greenbelts would be a great path to consider. Participants will be able to upload their times and even include a photo of themselves after they have completed the race. Times and photos can be uploaded between Feb. 13th and Feb 28th and winners will be announced and medals awarded. The Lake Houston YMCA would like to thank all participants for supporting and running, and can't wait to see everyone's participation!
The Physical Education departments of Humble ISD will receive a donation for its programs to ensure the health and development of area children, directly aligning with one of YMCA's focus of Youth Development.
Whether you are a veteran runner or this is your first run, the event is sure to get you moving and help you support your community. Lake Houston Family YMCA VIRTUAL Bridge Fest is presented by HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood. For more information on how to participate, go here.
