Houston police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a man found at 6415 West Lake Houston Parkway about 5:40 p.m. on Sunday (May 8).

The identity of the victim, 72, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Clark and M. Nicotra reported:

Officers were dispatched to a welfare check call to an apartment at the above address after family members had not heard from the victim since he met with a suspicious person earlier in the day. Officers arrived and found the victim in his apartment. He had suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim was visiting with family earlier in the morning when he abruptly left the gathering and went to meet another person at another location. At this time, there is no description on that person.

Anyone with information, in this case, is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
