Big Rivers Waterpark andamp; Adventures revealed today the addition of amusement park rides within an area referred to as “Big Rivers Fairgrounds.” The Fairgrounds will include 11 amusement park rides from kiddie rides to thrill rides, which will be installed over the next several weeks. Admission to the Fairgrounds will be included with the anticipated “Christmas at Big Rivers” program, occurring from November 26th through the end of the Christmas season for 2021. Most of the rides are expected to be operational by the start of the seasonal program. All rides will be complete by the start of the 2022 season. Admission to the Christmas program will be included with the purchase of the 2022 Big Rivers Waterpark Season Pass now available at bigriverswaterpark.com.
The Montgomery County destination already includes an extensive waterpark with slides, lazy river and wave pool; as well as an adventure park that includes ziplines, a four-story challenge course, tallest outdoor climbing wall in Texas, Wild Isle, an obstacle course on a spring-fed lake, petting zoo, alligator habitat, giant maze, ax throwing, archery and more.
“With the addition of the Fairgrounds, Big Rivers becomes the newest amusement park destination in the greater Houston area” says Monty Galland, founder of Big Rivers Waterpark andamp; Adventures. “With 11 amusement park rides, including a spinning coaster, Big Rivers will be a year-around destination. Waterpark, Adventure Park and now Amusement Park, we anticipate guests will be coming back multiple times each year just to do it all!” Mr. Galland was quick to reassure that the addition of the Fairgrounds is not replacing plans for Grand Texas, a large-scale amusement park for which the developer has set aside over 140 acres. “The rides at the Fairgrounds will be a lot of fun for all ages, but the themed attractions of Grand Texas are still forthcoming.”
Some highlights of The Fairgrounds include:
• Rolling Thunder – a spinning rollercoaster.
• SPINdletop – a pendulum that swings riders a full 360 degrees.
• Lafitte’s Fury – a rocking pirate ship.
• Screaming Eagles – a family attraction where the rider controls the flight path.
• And 7 more rides, from kiddie to thrill rides.
