That said, The Rustic Brush Kingwood, like many independently owned businesses in Kingwood and the rest of the world, has been hit hard through the pandemic. According to co-owner Emzey, "The year of 2020, the store struggled immensely due to many people not booking workshops once COVID restrictions and health concerns were in full effect. We have not overcome the COVID loss in sales. We are trying to remain open by offering take home DIY projects, adhering to the COVID restrictions while partnering with other local small businesses to offer special events and applying promotional codes for discounted workshops."
Like many other independently owned businesses in the greater Houston area, the Rustic Brush could use your help. With the current stuck at home environment many of us are living through, we could all use an opportunity to awaken our own creative spirit.
The Rustic Brush has a relaxed and social environment that is perfect for entertaining and celebrating special events. They are a BYOB establishment and welcome you to make yourself at home. Bring your family, friends, co-workers or drop by on your own to share this social crafting experience with others! The Rustic Brush gets a lot of great feedback from their past guests who love the opportunity to build wooden decor masterpieces with their own two hands while sharing life moments like bachelorette, birthday, and retirement parties with family and friends. They pride themselves on providing a fun and safe environment that make experiences into lasting memories.
Connection to the Kingwood Community
Co-owner Jamie Wisegerber is originally from a small town in South Central Texas near the Victoria area. She holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from the University of Houston-Victoria. She moved to Houston in 2012 and met her future husband shortly after. She is a devoted Christian, wife, and mother. She enjoys playing with her kids as much as possible, reading, cooking, and remodeling. Jamie has a deep passion for serving others and giving back. Jamieand#39;s husband and partner in Rustic Brush, Emzey Wisegerber is originally from the Liberty/Dayton area. He is a devoted Christian, husband, and father. He loves all sports but most notably, football, baseball, and golf. Emzey has a passion for God, investing, and his family. Both come from large families and love the loud chatter that is consumed in the house during holidays and social gatherings. They agree that their greatest challenge, blessing, and joy is raising two daughters, Evelyn and Lively.
"We are residents of Kingwood and we are raising our children here. We are also active members of Woodridge Baptist Church. We are actively teaming up with other local small businesses and we support local schools and volunteer groups from dance teams to mom groups to name just a few. We are communicating with the Kingwood Chamber of Commerce on additional ways to support and partner up with the community during these hard economic times." Says Emzey of their connection to the Kingwood community.
The pair could not be happier with their choice in investing in The Rustic Brush. They get to give back to the community, instill the value of hard work in their children, and have fun doing it. They thought Ralph Waldo Emerson stated it best, “Every artist was first an amateur.”
The Rustic Brush Kingwood has regularly scheduled open workshops but also offer the option for guests to book private parties to reserve the entire space. All workshops must be booked online to reserve their date and time. They are also available for private workshops, corporate events, bachelorette parties, birthday parties, date nights, family get togethers, seasonal workshops, kids parties, groups of any kind. And they offer on-site workshops, where they come to you, and virtual workshops if minimums are met.
